Wondering what to do with your family on spring break?

Treat them to a family trip to Southern Utah!  Warmer weather is around the corner and it is time to start thinking about that summer vacation.  It will be here before you know it.  Take advantage of the cool weather in the mountains, the sunny skies, and incredible landscapes.  We have the perfect accommodations that are central to the National Parks.  You can make day trips to Bryce and Zion NP plus explore the surrounding area around the cabin.  Visit the ice cave where it is cool and full of ice all year round or take a hike to Strawberry Point where on a clear day you can see all the way to Lake Powell,  Zion NP, and Pine Valley.  Check your calendar and check our calendar at Paradise Lodge VRBO rental to plan your trip.  Want to see tips and tricks about planning a trip to southern Utah check out our Face book page at Paradise Lodge Facebook page

PC Brain Head Website

Perfect time to hit the slopes, Brian Head, is right around the mountain from Paradise Lodge and received over 20" of new snow in the last week.  Come stay the weekend in Southern Utah and enjoy some skiing or snowboarding at Brian Head then come back to the cabin to sit by the fireplace and play games.  Favorite board game in our family is the vintage game "Who Done It?"  What about you? What board game is your friendly competition?

The Man Cave

Exiting the cave
About 1/2 way through the cave

Some people seek to build a man cave we found a family cave.  Here in Duck Creek about 6 minutes from the cabin in the lava tubes is Mammoth lave tube Cave.  At the time we discovered the tube we were the only ones in the area and it felt deserted and beckoning us to come in.  With headlamps (much better than your phone flashlight) we explored through the tunnels and crawled out the 1.5 mile through the tube to sunlight. Looking for more information about the cave I stumbled across Adam Haycock's blog that gives extensive information and fabulous pictures.  Take a peek yourself at

After parking your car and walking up to the cave entrance you will almost be stepping into it before you realize you are on top of it.  It is flat to the ground with rocks and then this hole in the ground. Yep, that is where you crawl down. Almost like Alice in Wonderland falling down the rabbit hole.  Once inside the cave you will notice a metal gate closed for half the year to help protect the bat population.  Yes, inside is considered a bat sanctuary or nursery and consider yourself lucky if you get to see one.  There are many openings once inside the lava tube cave and exploring each one can be an entire days adventure.  Happy Caving!

Check out more here http://www.visitsouthernutah.com/Kanab-Balloons-Tunes-Round…  Just one more reason to come make a trip to southern Utah and make those memories.  Balloon launches by over 50 pilots Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 am weather permitting.  Then main street is lined with vendors and the battle of the bands includes 12 bands to compete for the title.  Saturday night is a surprise with a balloon glow and wishing lantern festival around 7 pm.  Think about making a trip to Southern Utah.
